Lone Tree Woman Charged With Murder in Death of 22-Year-Old Dadrian Carpenter

A young man from Colorado Springs lost his life following a violent domestic disturbance inside a Lone Tree apartment early Thursday morning, authorities confirmed.

The Lone Tree Police Department has identified the victim as 22-year-old Dadrian E. Carpenter, and a 20-year-old woman has since been arrested and charged with his murder.

Officers responded to the 9900 block of Trainstation Circle at approximately 7:25 a.m. on May 22, 2026, after a 911 call came in reporting a domestic disturbance.

When they arrived at the apartment, they found Carpenter suffering from serious injuries and losing a significant amount of blood.

Without hesitation, responding officers began rendering aid on the scene before emergency medical personnel transported Carpenter to a local hospital for treatment.

Despite the efforts of medical staff, Carpenter did not survive his injuries. The Lone Tree Police Department issued an update later that evening confirming his death.

Woman Detained at Scene, Later Booked Into Douglas County Jail

A woman was taken into custody at the scene for questioning while the investigation was still unfolding. She was later identified as 20-year-old Lovely A. Rucker of Lone Tree.

Authorities subsequently arrested Rucker and booked her into the Douglas County Jail.

Rucker now faces a serious list of felony charges, all connected to domestic violence. Those charges include first-degree murder, second-degree assault, tampering with evidence, and menacing with a deadly weapon.

The severity of the charges reflects what investigators say was a violent and deliberate act against Carpenter inside the shared residence.

Lone Tree Police stated that the incident appeared to be isolated and that there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community.

Carpenter was originally from Colorado Springs, a city located roughly 60 miles south of the Denver metro area.

At just 22 years old, his death has drawn attention to the ongoing and devastating impact of domestic violence, which continues to claim lives across communities of every background and demographic.

Domestic violence incidents often go unreported until they reach a breaking point, and advocates have long called for greater awareness, resources, and early intervention to prevent tragedies like this one.

The circumstances that led up to the confrontation between Carpenter and Rucker have not yet been released by authorities, and detectives are continuing to piece together the full picture of what took place inside that apartment.

The Lone Tree Police Department credited the Parker Police Department and the 23rd Judicial District for their assistance throughout the investigation, which remains active as of the time of this report.
