Missing 14-Year-Old Last Seen at Denton Planet Fitness at 4 a.m. — Family Pleads for Help

Authorities in Highland Village, Texas, are asking the public for help finding 14-year-old Benjamin Mark Scheurer, who has been missing since the night of May 11. His family and police are growing increasingly concerned and are urging anyone with information to come forward immediately.

Benjamin was last seen leaving his home in Highland Village around 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 11.

The last confirmed sighting of him was captured at Planet Fitness on University Drive in Denton, Texas, at approximately 4:00 a.m. on Monday, May 12. He was traveling on a skateboard, which appears to be his primary mode of transportation.

Benjamin is 14 years old, born September 8, 2011. He stands at 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing black Vans shoes, black athletic shorts, and a black long-sleeve Zumiez brand t-shirt with skull graphics. He was also wearing a cross chain necklace.

What makes this case especially urgent is that Benjamin has no cellphone and no credit cards or any other items that could be used to track his location. Investigators have very few digital leads to follow, which means tips from the public become critically important in a situation like this.

The Highland Village Police Department has officially entered Benjamin into the National Crime Information Center, the federal missing persons database, making his case visible to law enforcement agencies across the country.

Benjamin’s mother, Monica Keim Scheurer, and his father, Andy Scheurer, are desperate for any information that could lead them to their son.

His sister Lily Scheurer and the rest of the family have also been reaching out across social media, asking the community to share his information as widely as possible.

Hours have turned into days since Benjamin was last seen, and every passing moment matters in a missing child case.

Investigators are looking into all possible leads and scenarios surrounding his disappearance. Whether Benjamin left voluntarily or encountered trouble along the way, police want to locate him and make sure he is safe.

The Denton and Highland Village areas are busy communities with a great deal of foot and vehicle traffic, and officials are hopeful that someone may have seen Benjamin on his skateboard in the days since he was last spotted at the gym on University Drive.

Businesses, residents, and anyone who was in that area during the early morning hours of May 12 or in the days that followed are being urged to think back carefully and report anything they may have seen.

Benjamin is described as a teenager who could easily blend into the surroundings of a busy suburban area. His height makes him somewhat distinctive for his age, and the black outfit with skull graphics on the shirt may help someone identify him if they encountered him recently.

If you have seen Benjamin Mark Scheurer or have any information about his whereabouts, do not hesitate. Call the Highland Village Police Department immediately at 972-317-6551 or dial 911.

Please share this story. One tip or one share from the right person could bring Benjamin home safely.
