Justin was born on July 1, 1990, in New Braunfels to parents Richard G. Medina and Agnes M. Camareno, and he spent his life rooted in the community he called home.
According to an obituary posted by Sunset Memorial Oaks Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Justin is survived by his mother, Agnes Camareno, his father, Richard Medina, his daughter, Ariel Medina, and several brothers.
Friends and family have been sharing memories and condolences online since news of his passing spread earlier this week.
In the wake of this unexpected loss, Justin’s cousin, Loretta Chapman of San Antonio, has started a GoFundMe campaign titled “In Loving Memory of Justin Medina” to help the family manage funeral and memorial expenses. The fundraiser was created two days ago and has a goal of $5,000.
“Today our family suffered an unexpected and heartbreaking loss with the passing of our cousin, Justin Medina,” Chapman wrote in the fundraiser description.
She explained that the family created the page to help cover funeral and memorial costs during what she called a difficult time, and asked supporters to consider donating or sharing the campaign even if they are unable to give themselves. She closed her message by thanking the community for its love, support, and kindness.
Community Members Step Forward to Donate
As of this report, the fundraiser has collected $450 toward its $5,000 goal from six donors. Early contributors include Jesster Boyce, who gave $300, along with Dillon Jackola, Joshua Guzman, Tristan Woods, and two anonymous donors who each gave smaller amounts ranging from $20 to $25.
The outpouring, while modest so far, reflects the close-knit nature of the New Braunfels community and the relationships Justin built during his 35 years.
