Ethan Perry Conner, a 20-year-old young man from New Hope, Florida, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, leaving behind a grieving family, a tight-knit community, and a legacy that speaks far beyond his years. Born on February 3, 2006, to Perry and Amy Yarbrough Conner, Ethan grew up to become someone people simply could not forget.
He was a proud graduate of Geneva High School with the class of 2024, where he spent six years playing center for the Geneva Panthers football team. His time at GHS extended well beyond the football field. He was an active member of FFA, competing at both the district and state levels, and built friendships that his family describes as true brotherhoods.
Geneva High School honored him publicly following news of his passing, noting that he will be missed by everyone who had the fortune of knowing him.
Ethan was the kind of person who showed up for the people he loved. He followed his sister Baylee to every game and tournament, cheering her on without fail.
He spent time at the lake, went camping with family and friends, and recently developed a deep love for duck hunting. He and his father Perry shared a special bond over trucks, working on them together and taking pride in keeping them looking and sounding just right.
His faith was central to everything he did. Ethan was a devoted member of Red Hill United Methodist Church, where he worshipped faithfully and looked for every opportunity to serve others. Those who knew him remember a young man who led with kindness and always had the biggest smile on his face.
From One Yard to a Thriving Business at Just 20 Years Old
Perhaps the most remarkable chapter of Ethan’s short life was what he built with his own two hands. At 15 years old, he started Conner Lawn Service with a single customer.
Through relentless effort and a work ethic that impressed everyone around him, he grew that business to serve more than 70 yards across the tri-state area. There were weeks he worked every single day, and not once did he complain about it.
In February 2025, he stepped into a new venture when he and his father became co-owners of Road Runner Roll-offs, a dumpster service that grew rapidly under his dedication. That same year, he pushed even further by purchasing an excavator and tractor to take on demolition work.
Neighbors and customers who interacted with him described a young man who was professional, helpful, and clearly destined for great things.
Ethan is survived by his parents, Perry and Amy Conner, his sister, Baylee, grandparents, Jimmy and Sandi Conner, Linda W. Yarbrough, and a wide circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved dogs, Rover, Millie, and Bandit.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, Alabama.
