The community of Silver Creek, Georgia is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Nicholas Scott Mullis, a 27-year-old man remembered for his generosity, strong work ethic, and deep love for family and the outdoors.
Nicholas passed away on April 21, 2026, a loss made even more painful by the fact that he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Jhaylan Alona Redwine-Mullis, who preceded him in death.
Born on July 21, 1998, in Rome, Georgia, Nicholas was the son of Michael Scott Mullis and Stacey Ann Bristol Mullis.
From an early age, he developed a reputation as someone who could be relied upon. Friends and family often described him as a person who would never hesitate to lend a hand, no matter the situation. That willingness to help others became a defining part of his life.
Nicholas graduated with honors from Model High School in 2016. He later pursued technical training at Georgia Northwestern Technical College, where he earned his certification as an electrical line worker.
Over the past five years, he built a solid career in the field, most recently working with DLC Utility Group.
His dedication to his job reflected his broader approach to life: steady, dependable, and always focused on doing his best.
Outside of work, Nicholas was known as a true “jack-of-all-trades.” Whether it was carpentry, automotive work, or small repairs, he had a natural ability to fix just about anything.
People frequently turned to him for help, and he rarely said no. His skills were matched by his kindness, making him someone others naturally trusted and appreciated.
Nicholas also had a deep connection to nature. He loved spending time outdoors, whether he was fishing, kayaking, or hunting.
Being out in nature brought him peace and happiness, and those who knew him say it was where he felt most at home. He also shared a special bond with his animals, who were an important part of his daily life.
Faith played a meaningful role in his life as well. As a member of HIS Church, Nicholas found purpose in serving others and living out his beliefs.
Those close to him take comfort in the thought that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Stacey Mullis; his brother, Lucas Lamar Mullis; his grandmother, Sheri Leigh Baker; his aunt, Rachel Lynn Boyd; and his uncle, Dr. Daniel Mullis and his wife, Jennifer.
He also leaves behind extended family members, friends, and many loved ones who will carry his memory forward.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life at 6:00 p.m. at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel in Rome, Georgia. Rev. Joey Motes will officiate the service.
Friends and community members are expected to gather to honor a life that, though short, left a lasting impact.
Nicholas Scott Mullis will be remembered not only for what he did, but for who he was, a kind-hearted, hardworking man who gave freely of himself and cared deeply for those around him.
His absence leaves a void that will not easily be filled, but his legacy of kindness and service will continue to live on in the lives he touched.
