Plymouth Police Officer Shoots Man During Early-Morning Domestic Disturbance

A police officer shot a man early Tuesday morning while responding to a domestic disturbance in Plymouth, authorities said.

The Plymouth Police Department reported that officers arrived shortly after 4:30 a.m. to a residence on the 6100 block of Quinwood Lane North following a call about an adult male knocking on a window.

According to police, a responding officer confronted the man in the parking lot, where he was armed with a handgun. The officer discharged their firearm, and the man was transported to a hospital in stable condition.

The officer was not injured and will be placed on critical incident leave in line with department protocol.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is conducting an investigation into the shooting. Further details about the circumstances leading up to the incident have not yet been released.
