Baton Rouge rapper P Yungin, born Kamrein McClay, has been booked in connection with a 2024 killing near Ville Platte, Louisiana.
The 21-year-old, best known for his past ties to NBA YoungBoy and the Never Broke Again camp, is now facing a serious criminal charge tied to a shooting that happened more than a year ago.
What He’s Been Charged With
According to Evangeline Parish authorities, McClay has been charged with one count of principal to second-degree murder.
The charge stems from the March 30, 2024, shooting death of Jonah C. Lee of Baton Rouge, who was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 300 block of Cheryl Street near Ville Platte. Lee was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
- Charge: one count of principal to second-degree murder
- Victim: Jonah C. Lee, Baton Rouge
- Location: 300 block of Cheryl Street, Ville Platte
- Date of shooting: March 30, 2024
A second person, identified as Daijah Shar Dae McClay, 29, of Plaquemine, has also been charged with the same count in connection with the case.
Bond and Case Status
Reports indicate McClay is being held in the Evangeline Parish jail on a $150,000 bond as the case works its way through the court system. Jail records show he was taken into custody in late June, more than two years after the shooting first occurred.
McClay rose to recognition in the rap scene after linking up with NBA YoungBoy, releasing projects under the Never Broke Again banner, including his albums KAM and DOY.
His arrest comes just months after online rumors falsely claimed he had died, rumors he was forced to publicly shut down at the time.
As with any pending case, these are only charges at this stage, and guilt or innocence will ultimately be determined in court. The rapper has not publicly commented on the arrest.
