Campton Hills Driveway Death of Nena Peduzzi Ruled Car vs. Pedestrian; No Suspect Named Yet

Campton Hills Driveway Death of Nena Peduzzi Ruled Car vs. Pedestrian; No Suspect Named Yet

A quiet Friday night in the west suburban village of Campton Hills turned grim after a 44-year-old woman was discovered dead in the driveway of her own home.

The Kane County Coroner’s Office has since confirmed the cause of death, shedding some light on a case that continues to draw the attention of multiple law enforcement agencies.

Nena Peduzzi was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after officers arrived at a residence in the 4N600 block of Brookside West Drive at approximately 10:45 p.m. on May 8.

Police had responded to the location following a report of a disturbance, only to find Peduzzi unresponsive in her driveway. Despite the efforts of first responders, there was nothing that could be done.

Autopsy Reveals Injuries Consistent With Being Struck by a Vehicle

An autopsy was conducted on Monday, and the findings pointed to a troubling conclusion. According to the Kane County Coroner’s Office, Peduzzi died as a result of cranial cerebral injuries consistent with a car versus pedestrian crash.

In simpler terms, the injuries she sustained were the kind typically seen when a person is struck by a moving vehicle.

Toxicology samples were also collected during the autopsy and have been sent out for further analysis. Those results, which can take several weeks to return, may provide investigators with additional context as the case moves forward.

What remains unclear at this point is whether authorities have identified a suspect vehicle or a driver connected to Peduzzi’s death.

As of the time of this report, no arrests have been announced, and police have not publicly stated whether they are actively searching for a specific car or individual in connection with the incident.

Multiple Agencies Join Forces to Investigate the Circumstances

The investigation into Peduzzi’s death is not being handled by a single department. Campton Hills detectives are working alongside the Fox Valley Major Crimes Task Force and the Kane County Coroner’s Office to piece together exactly what happened that night.

The involvement of the Major Crimes Task Force signals that investigators are treating this case with a significant degree of seriousness.

Campton Hills is a small village located in Kane County, roughly 40 miles west of downtown Chicago. It is a largely residential community, and cases of this nature are uncommon in the area.

Residents and neighbors in the vicinity of Brookside West Drive were understandably shaken by the news.
