A Charlotte husband, father, and small business owner is being remembered by his family and community after he died unexpectedly over the weekend.
Carlos Abrahams died on Saturday, June 20, according to his wife, Ronjera Abrahams, who shared the news in an emotional post on Instagram on Monday, June 22. She did not share details about the cause of her husband’s death, only confirming the date he passed.
Abrahams was well known in the Charlotte area as the owner of Crav’N Caribbean, a Jamaican restaurant and food truck that served the community. The couple’s family had also drawn local attention before.
WBTV covered the Abrahams family in February 2025 after their quadruplets finally came home following 36 days in the neonatal intensive care unit.
The couple welcomed four babies, Ariayah, Aniyah, Cayden, and Carter, on December 2, 2024, joining three older sons already in the household, bringing their total number of children to seven.
Wife Shares Heartbreak Online
In her post, Ronjera described her husband as her best friend and the love of her life, saying she has no words to capture the depth of her pain.
She wrote that she and Carlos had been together for sixteen years and that she now has to find a way to keep raising their children without him by her side. She asked for strength from God as she faced the road ahead.
The post quickly drew an outpouring of support from friends, family, and followers, with thousands of reactions and comments pouring in across social media. Many people expressed shock and disbelief, saying they could not process the sudden loss.
Several commenters said they had no idea what happened and asked for clarification, reflecting how unexpected the news was to those who knew the family.
Others offered prayers, scripture, and words of comfort, with many specifically asking God to give Ronjera and her seven children peace and strength during such a painful time.
Friends recalled Carlos as a beloved figure in his circle, with some referencing his food truck and restaurant directly while sending condolences to the family business as well as to Ronjera personally.
The comment section, which grew to include thousands of responses between Instagram and Facebook, became a gathering place for the community to mourn together and lift up the family publicly.
Community Remembers a Growing Family
The Abrahams family had become a familiar and beloved story in the Charlotte area, particularly after the dramatic and emotional journey of their quadruplets’ birth and lengthy hospital stay last year. Their story had resonated with many local families who followed the babies’ progress from the NICU to finally coming home.
Now, that same community is rallying behind Ronjera as she navigates the loss of her husband while caring for seven children, including four who are still infants. No further details have been released regarding funeral arrangements or memorial services at this time.
Carlos Abrahams’ legacy includes not only his family but also his contribution to Charlotte’s local food scene through Crav’N Caribbean, a business that brought a piece of Caribbean culture to the city he called home.
This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
