Matthew Castellanos, a 23-year-old motorcyclist, died following a tragic collision in Michigan City, Indiana, leaving his family, friends, and loved ones in deep grief.
The crash occurred on Franklin Street when Castellanos was traveling southbound at the same time another vehicle was moving northbound.
According to Michigan City Police, the driver of the other vehicle, identified as Keith Starnes, attempted to turn left onto Westwind Drive.
During that turn, the motorcycle collided with the vehicle, resulting in fatal injuries to Castellanos.
Authorities later arrested Starnes on multiple charges, including reckless homicide, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, endangerment, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated per se.
Police also reported that Castellanos was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
