Nashua Man, Motorcyclist Miguel Garcia Jr., Killed in Meredith Highway Crash

A 22-year-old Nashua man died in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 93 in Meredith over the weekend, New Hampshire State Police confirmed.

Miguel Garcia Jr. was riding a red 2021 Honda CBR600RR when the crash occurred on I-93 southbound.

State Troopers from the Troop D barracks were dispatched to the scene at 3:33 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, after receiving a report of a motorcycle crash. Garcia was pronounced dead at the scene.

What Investigators Have Found So Far

According to the preliminary investigation, Garcia’s motorcycle veered off the roadway before he lost control of the bike. The motorcycle then slid across the center median and came to a stop near the tree line.

Troopers say the exact reason Garcia left the roadway has not yet been determined and remains part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities also believe the crash happened well before it was discovered and reported.

Based on evidence gathered at the scene, investigators determined the crash likely occurred several hours before the 3:33 p.m. call came in, meaning Garcia may have been on the side of the highway for an extended period before anyone noticed.

That detail has drawn attention from residents reacting to the news online, with several pointing out the layout of that stretch of highway.

Some commenters familiar with the area noted that the section of I-93 southbound near Meredith includes a pair of tight curves that can be difficult to navigate, especially at higher speeds.

Others questioned how a crash on a major interstate could go unnoticed by passing drivers for what investigators are describing as a period of hours.

Community Response and Ongoing Investigation

New Hampton Fire Department personnel assisted state troopers in responding to the scene. State Police have not released further details about the cause of the crash, including whether speed, road conditions, or mechanical issues played a role.

News of Garcia’s death spread quickly across social media after New Hampshire State Police shared the announcement, prompting a wave of comments from residents.

Many expressed shock that a crash of this nature could go unreported for hours along a heavily traveled interstate corridor, while others offered condolences to Garcia’s family and loved ones.

The investigation into the crash remains active, and State Police have not indicated when it might be completed. As is standard practice in fatal crash investigations, troopers are asking the public for help piecing together what happened in the hours leading up to the 3:33 p.m. report.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash, seen the motorcycle on the side of I-93 southbound in Meredith on the afternoon or evening of June 20, or who has any other information that could assist troopers is urged to contact the investigating officer.

State Police identified Trooper Peter Kosakowski as the point of contact for tips related to the case.

No further updates on Garcia’s case have been released at this time. Ink Link reported that this marks the latest fatal motorcycle crash on the state’s highway system this year, underscoring ongoing safety concerns raised by riders and officials alike about high-speed turns and limited visibility along certain stretches of New Hampshire’s interstate system.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
